Our purpose - the reason why we exist as a ministry - is to create an environment conducive to historic revival by helping people to be thinking and talking and praying and longing for this.
In these days of pre-Revival, many Christians lack the basic hunger for God's awakening touch.
But, more than that, most don’t even know what revival looks like. It is simply not on their radar at all. This needs to change.
Our vision is to be an powerful catalyst for historic revival to break out here in this city and beyond.
This is where we are headed.
Our mission is to humbly pursue an outpouring of revival through
1. Fanning the flames of prayer for revival citywide
2. Cultivating & encouraging a family group of revival-minded people
3. Telling the stories of God’s revival work in the past and the present
All this is at the core of the task God has given to us.
Amplifying Christ and the Gospel to the lost in all we do. (Revelation 5:13)
Freedom in and surrender to the Holy Spirit to lead us and work in us. (Acts 13:52)
Loving people for more than what they can do. Love one another deeply. Love well. (1 Peter 4:8)
Never forgetting to bless the Bride of Christ. Serving the church. (Galatians 6:10)
Embracing the creative spark God has placed in all of us. (Ephesians 3:20)
We need revival now more than ever. The stakes have never been higher. (Psalm 85:6-7)
Walton grew up in Hawaii in a non-Christian family, surrounded by all kinds of religion but with very little exposure to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God pursued him while he was at MIT in Boston, and Walton finally surrendered his life to Jesus in 1986. After working 4 years in industry as a computer engineer and serving as a counselor in his church’s youth ministry, he heard and answered God’s call to ministry by moving to Dallas to study the Word and get a Master’s of Theology in World Missions at Dallas Theological Seminary.
While in seminary, Walton got married to Tina, and they together pastored several churches in Texas and worked as missionaries in France. God gave Walton opportunities to work with kids, youth, college students, and internationals to engage in missions worldwide. In Austin, Texas, he pastored a multi-ethnic community-based house church for 7 years before being called to Charlotte.
Since 2014, he has led the English-speaking ministries of Grace One Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. His plan was to lead the new church – with its strong Asian identity – to focus on missional activity that reaches out to the least, the last, and the lost of this city, regardless of race. His longing is to see historic revival ignited in Charlotte and beyond. His latest ministry is a non-profit organization called Think Revival that focuses on prayer and re-capturing people's imaginations with how God is on the move.
Walton and Tina have two children, Joseph and Stephanie, who also love to worship and serve the Lord.
Revival is the visitation of God which brings to life Christians who have been sleeping and restores a deep sense of God's near presence and holiness.
